The utilisation of high-accuracy GNSS for the purpose of dynamic structural health monitoring

Septentrio is a high-tech company specialising in the design, manufacture and sale of high-precision GPS/GNSS receivers.

Designed for applications that provide decimetre or centimetre-level accuracy in demanding conditions, these receivers quickly deliver accurate and reliable position information even in the open ocean, in areas susceptible to ionospheric scintillation, or at high latitudes.Septentrio's products excel in urban canyons, under canopies, and even in the presence of intentional interference.

Septentrio's GPS/GNSS receivers, such as the AsteRx SB ProConnect, feature a variety of unique technologies, including quad-constellation, multi-band, full-field-of-view RTK positioning, as well as rugged, compact, IP68 waterproof housings.

It is also equipped with AIM+ technology, a unique interference monitoring and anti-jamming system that provides reliable positioning data in harsh environments. In addition, data from the AsteRx SB ProConnect receiver can be output in a variety of ways, including NMEA or SBF (Septentrio Binary Format) output data. Users can transfer data via serial port, USB port, NTRIP server or IP server, and listen to the receiver's output data using the Septentrio GUI tool called Data Link

Septentrio also provides a range of software tools such as RxTools, including RxControl, SBF Analyzer, SBF Converter, RxLogger, RxUpgrade, and Data Link, which are designed to help users maximise their familiarity with the Septentrio receiver's power and perform quick GNSS data visualisation or manipulation.

In Seoul, South Korea, the government is using Septentrio's high-precision GPS/GNSS receivers to monitor vehicular bridges and footbridges to ensure public safety. These receivers are able to detect the tiniest changes in displacement, providing engineers with data that allows them to better understand the displacement of large structures over time, especially during inclement weather or heavy loads. By using these high-precision GNSS receivers, Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) is able to ensure the safety of bridges and other critical infrastructure, thereby protecting the public from the risk of potential structural failure.
