SparkFun Electronics has announced the release of a new GNSS RTK module, which is designed to provide enhanced positioning accuracy

The SparkFun Quadband GNSS RTK Breakout (Qwiic) from SparkFun Electronics is a highly accurate positioning device with an integrated Quectel LG290P GNSS module. Below are some of the key features and information about this product:

Compatibility: The module has the same dimensions, pinouts and connectors as the SparkFun GPS-RTK-SMA Breakout - ZED-F9P and can be used as a seamless upgrade alternative.

GNSS Capability: The LG290P module is a quad-band, multi-constellation, high-precision RTK GNSS receiver capable of receiving signals in the L1, L2, L5, and L6/E6 bands, supporting GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, QZSS, and NavIC constellations.

Satellite-based augmentation systems: Supports SBAS including Wide Area Augmentation System (WASS), European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), and Precision Point Positioning (PPP) services such as BDS PPP-B2b and MADOCA-PPP.

Anti-jamming unit: Built-in NIC anti-jamming unit adopts advanced algorithms to detect and eliminate jamming signals, which improves signal reception in complex electromagnetic environments.

Application Scenarios: Due to its high accuracy and low power consumption, the module is suitable for applications such as intelligent robotics, UAVs, precision agriculture, mining, surveying and autonomous navigation.

Interface Options: A variety of interface options are available, including UART, SPI and I2C, making it easy for users to select and integrate according to different needs.

Size: The module's compact design, measuring 43.2 x 43.2mm, allows for easy integration into a variety of projects.

Power and Communication: Provides power and communication to the LG290P GNSS receiver via a USB Type-C connector.

Open Source Product: The SparkFun Quadband GNSS RTK Breakout is an open source product, and the associated schematics, Gerber files, firmware, and detailed documentation can be found on its product page and Hookup Guide.

Price: This product is available for $149.95 from the official SparkFun shop.

In addition to SparkFun's products, Septentrio also offers a high-precision GNSS module, the Septentrio Mosaic GNSS module, a multi-band, multi-constellation GNSS receiver designed for mass-market applications such as robotics. The Mosaic GNSS module is a multi-band, multi-constellation GNSS receiver designed for mass-market applications such as robotics and autonomous systems, capable of tracking all Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) satellite systems and supporting current and future signals.

Mosaic GNSS modules incorporate Septentrio's unique AIM+ technology, an advanced on-board interference mitigation technique that suppresses interference ranging from simple continuous narrowband signals to complex broadband and pulsed jammers.

In addition, the Mosaic GNSS module features an ultra-low power design, provides RTK positioning, and features easy integration, including a fully documented interface, command and data messages, and included RxTools software for receiver configuration, monitoring, and data logging and analysis.

The Mosaic GNSS module also includes an intuitive web user interface that allows users to control the receiver from any mobile device or computer and view the radio frequency (RF) spectrum in real time.
