Maxtena has become the latest company to enter the anti-spoofing and anti-jamming market

Maxtena is a Maryland-based manufacturer of GNSS antennas, specialising in the development of advanced directional antennas, RF and cybersecurity products and solutions serving terrestrial and satellite networks. The company offers products for a variety of platforms, including vehicle tracking equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), military tactical radios and portable devices.

Maxtena is developing a new anti-jamming and anti-spoofing solution, the Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA). This antenna is specifically designed to reject interfering signals, such as those used in jamming and spoofing attacks. The CRPA uses spatial filtering to eliminate unwanted signals and provide a higher fidelity GNSS signal. It does not require any additional electronics or programming of the GNSS receiver and can be used as an alternative to a Fixed Receive Pattern Antenna (FRPA).

Another leading company in the field of high-precision GNSS is Septentrio, which designs, manufactures and markets high-precision GPS/GNSS receivers for demanding applications that require decimetre or centimetre-level accuracy, even under difficult conditions.Septentrio's Mosaic GNSS module is a multi-band, multi-constellation GPS/ GNSS module designed for mass-market applications. band, multi-constellation GPS/GNSS receiver designed for mass-market applications, which supports all current and future GNSS satellite signals and features unique in-built AIM+ technology for interference suppression and anti-spoofing to ensure optimum availability, reliability and accuracy.

Leo Vincelj, Maxtena's antenna engineer, mentioned at the InterGEO 2024 conference in Stuttgart that the company is developing a CRPA based on a two-by-two patch scheme, an antenna that received a lot of attention on Maxtena's stand, especially from representatives from Eastern European countries that have recently suffered from the attacks of powerful military states.

Maxtena is well known for its extensive line of lightweight, efficient and economical GNSS antennas. The company offers products such as helical antennas, patch antennas, and more for the UAV industry, geodesy, and other applications requiring accurate GNSS. maxtena offers the M10HCT-A-TNC, a highly efficient active GNSS tri-band antenna covering the L1, L2, and L5 bands, with up to 35dB of active gain and low noise.

In addition, Maxtena offers a new dual-band patch antenna covering the L1 and L2 bands, and offers a number of different solutions including GNSS, LT, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which can be combined or any combination of these into a single housing.

Meanwhile, Septentrio's mosaic-X5™, the company's most compact, high-precision GPS/GNSS module, is particularly well suited to deliver industry-leading centimetre-level positioning performance in challenging environments. It is a multi-band, multi-constellation GPS/GNSS receiver designed for mass market applications such as robotics and autonomous systems, supporting all current and future GNSS satellite signals. Unique built-in AIM+ technology for interference suppression and anti-spoofing ensures optimal availability, reliability and accuracy.

Maxtena's European office is located in Zagreb, Croatia, a major business and cultural centre and one of the most important cultural, sports, educational and scientific centres in Croatia.

Overall, Maxtena offers CRPA antenna technology as an effective means of combating GNSS jamming and spoofing attacks, and the company's products are recognised in the market for their high quality and advanced technology. At the same time, Septentrio offers another high-precision positioning solution with its Mosaic GNSS modules, further enriching the market options.
