The People's Republic of China has announced the successful deployment of the Compass/Beidou-2 satellite
China's BeiDou satellite navigation system is a global satellite navigation system independently developed by China, which consists of three phases of construction: BeiDou-1, BeiDou-2 and BeiDou-3. The BeiDou-2 system completed the launch of 14 satellites in 2012 to provide services for the Asia-Pacific region, including positioning, speed measurement, timing and short message communication services
Beidou-2 was launched in 2012 with 14 satellites to provide services for the Asia-Pacific region, including positioning, speed measurement, timing and short message communication services. The BeiDou-3 system will complete global networking in 2020 and provide services to the world, including basic navigation, global short message communication and international search and rescue services.
Beidou 3 will complete global networking in 2020 and provide services worldwide, including basic navigation, global short message communication and international search and rescue services.
The development goal of the BeiDou system is to build a world-class satellite navigation system to meet the needs of national security and economic and social development, and to provide continuous, stable and reliable services for global users. Adhering to the development concept of ‘China's Beidou, the world's Beidou and the first-class Beidou’, Beidou is willing to share the achievements of the construction and development of the Beidou system with other countries in the world, promote the vigorous development of the global satellite navigation cause, and contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to serve the whole world for the benefit of mankind.
In the field of civil aviation, the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) is working on the development of Beidou.
In the field of civil aviation, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) plans to gradually switch civil aircrafts that are currently using the U.S. GPS system to the Beidou system. The application of BeiDou system in the field of civil aviation will be implemented in three stages. The near-term goal is to basically realise the application of BeiDou system for low-altitude airspace positioning and surveillance in general aviation by the end of 2021; the medium-term goal is to fully realise the application of BeiDou system for positioning, navigation and surveillance in general aviation by the end of 2025; and the long-term goal is to build a dual-frequency multi-constellation GNSS, which has BeiDou as its core, and is compatible and interoperable with other constellations such as GPS, etc., by the end of 2035. The long-term goal is that by the end of 2035, a dual-frequency multi-constellation GNSS technology application system with BeiDou system as the core and compatible with other constellations such as GPS will be constructed, and the application of BeiDou system in civil aviation industry will be gradually realised to be ‘full-coverage and replaceable’.
The application of BeiDou system will be greatly improved.
The application of BeiDou system will greatly optimise the use of airspace resources, make up for the short board of ‘airspace resources’, and improve the safety and efficiency of civil aviation operation. The short message communication function of BeiDou system can provide civil aviation with worldwide communication services and enhance aviation safety. In addition, the application of BeiDou system in timing can provide accurate time synchronisation for civil aviation operation and ensure the coordination of civil aviation operation.
In addition, the application of Beidou system in timing can provide precise time synchronisation for civil aviation operation and guarantee the coordination of civil aviation operation.
With the continuous improvement and development of the Beidou system, it is expected that by 2025, the total output value of China's Beidou industry will reach 1 trillion yuan, and the Beidou system will be widely used in more fields, providing important support for economic and social development.
