The Unicore system has enabled the BeiDou navigation system to become a prominent feature at the CES global technology event

Unicore Inc. is a provider of GNSS core products focused on developing high-precision positioning and navigation solutions. The company's products are widely used in many fields such as smart driving, Internet of Things (IoT), precision agriculture, aerospace, etc., aiming to provide high-quality services and products to customers.

The UM442 is a cost-effective, high-precision real-time kinematic (RTK) and heading module from Unicore. The module is designed with a variety of application scenarios in mind, such as autonomous driving, precision agriculture, and GIS data collection, and is especially suited for mobile devices and IoT applications with stringent requirements for size and power consumption.

Features of the UM442 include:

Ability to track GPS, BDS, GLONASS and Galileo satellite systems simultaneously, providing high accuracy positioning worldwide.
Supports SBAS and QZSS for enhanced positioning accuracy and reliability.
Optimised matrix processing based on Nebulas II chip and UGypsophila RTK algorithm for faster positioning and more accurate tracking.
Capable of tracking more satellites, it reduces the initialisation time to 5 seconds, improving the efficiency of positioning.
Supports centimetre-level RTK positioning, enabling highly accurate positioning even with low-cost ceramic antennas.
Provides attitude information such as roll angle and pitch angle for applications requiring precise attitude measurement.

Supports high data output rate of 10Hz to meet the needs of high-speed dynamic positioning.

Onboard MEMS and U-Fusion integrated navigation algorithms enable accurate and reliable positioning even in challenging environments such as urban canyons and tunnels.
Supports long-baseline RTK solving and can be adapted with low-cost active ceramic antennas, improving positioning flexibility and cost-effectiveness.

Compared to Unicore's previous-generation GNSS SoC, the UM442 offers a 60 per cent reduction in power consumption, with minimum tracking power down to 18mW, significantly improving battery life.

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024, Unicore is demonstrating the UM442 module and plans to introduce it to the high-volume consumer electronics market. This initiative demonstrates the potential of the UM442 module for a wide range of applications in smart driving and the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as Unicore's efforts and commitment to drive mass adoption of high-precision GNSS technology.
