u-blox has recently revealed its latest innovation, the X20, which represents a significant advancement in the field of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS)

u-blox, a leading global provider of positioning and wireless communications technologies and services headquartered in Thalwil, Switzerland, announced on 24 September 2024 the launch of its new X20 full-band, high-precision GNSS platform. u-blox X20 platform is a revolutionary product that improves accuracy, performance and security, bringing centimetre-level accuracy and expanding geographic coverage and service availability globally.

The u-blox X20 platform supports full-band (L1/L2/L5/L6) signals and has an integrated L-band receiver, which means that it can provide highly accurate positioning services even in difficult signal environments. It supports not only the basic L1 and L2 frequencies, but also the later addition of the L5 band, as well as the new L6 band, which is used not only for navigation services but also for correction services, helping to improve the accuracy of positioning estimates.

The X20 platform is extremely flexible, with built-in support for all types of correction services, including local base station, RTK (real-time kinematic), Network RTK, PPP-RTK, and PPP (precise point positioning) corrections. This enables users to choose the best solution for their application needs while balancing cost and accuracy.

In addition, the X20 platform is designed with end-to-end security features, including system authentication via secure boot and secure firmware updates, message validation, and encryption via the built-in secure root of trust (RoT). It also supports Galileo OSNMA authentication as well as advanced jamming and spoofing detection and mitigation, ensuring the integrity and security of location data.

The X20 platform is on display at INTERGEO 2024, 24-26 September 2024 in Stuttgart, Germany, on stand B1.039 in Hall 1.
